Gail Hammer Photography is located in Toronto, Ontario. Gail specializes in the photography of weddings, children, people and pets. Many of her photographs are hand-coloured or sepia-toned, giving those photos a unique and special look. Gail prefers to photograph subjects in their own environment, which she feels adds to the memorable quality of the portrait.
"I especially enjoy working with children and animals because they are not self conscious and very natural in front of the camera. I believe that the subject of the photograph contributes as much as the photographer, and so I prefer to choose environments with which the people are familiar and comfortable. I talk with my subjects about what they would like to capture rather than repeating the same poses that you see in every wedding photo or children's portrait. When it's all said and done and you look at your photographs time and time again, you will know that they are all the more perfect for your contributions."
"As you look through this site, you will notice that much of the artwork is in black and white, with some tints and toning. All of my colouring work is done by hand to ensure quality and originality. I hope you enjoy the photographs you see - I enjoyed taking them, and I know the people who have these photos in their homes enjoy looking at them every time they walk by the wall or desk where their pictures have been displayed."
