"Cape Cod Horses"
First Place Toronto Star 1995 Photography Competition, "Places" Category
| The photo was taken in Cape Cod. I was on a bike ride and had my camera loaded with black & white infra-red film. When I saw the horses and beautiful foliage I jumped off my bike and just started shooting. Infra-red film accentuates clouds, sky and foliage and it gives the photograph its dream-like quality. |
"High School Reunion"
Second Place, Photo Life 1992 Darkroom Contest
| I was in a club in Toronto, photographing at a high school reunion. The club was dark and I was using flash for most of my photos (which is never my first choice). Three women were playing pool and when I passed by they asked if I would take their photograph. I noticed how beautifully the light above the pool table lit their faces, and the photo above was the result. It's always a pleasure when a great photograph comes from a serendipitous moment. |
